Really easy mince pies


Really easy, cheats, quick preparation – oh whatever the word here’s a way to do your own mince pies or mince shapes as they’re not remotely pie like, but mince pies says it all!

You will need:-

1 jar of mincemeat
1 roll of ready made pastry
Brown sugar
A working oven (not a microwave)
Mulled wine

Heat up oven to 175degrees.

Unroll your pastry.

Open jar of mincemeat and spread over the pastry, making sure it’s all covered.

Roll up the pastry and pop in the fridge for 30 minutes or as long as you like, meanwhile have a mug of mulled wine.

After 30 minutes or so cut the roll into 12 pieces, pop onto a grease proofed baking tray and squish down with your palm.

Brush over with beaten egg.

Pop into the oven for 15 minutes or so, until you’re happy with the colour.

Put onto a cooling rack. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

Either eat warm or cold.

Enjoy with a mug of mulled wine!
