As I drove up the drive to Penmyarth House on the Glanusk Estate the day before the Estate Fayre and NGS Open Garden the marquees were up, Harry was finishing off the neat mowing lines and Iona was calmly getting on with the last few jobs on her to do list.  The girls and dog jumped out of the car in search of mischief and Welsh cakes, they can smell both at a huge distance and when I saw them again they had stretched their legs and devoured said Welsh cakes.

When we had been at Glanusk in mid April the weather had been glorious and had continued to do so, so I imagine I was not the only one to whisper water wishes as we drew the curtains on Saturday night.   Thankfully when we woke up on a drizzly Sunday morning the garden was refreshed and glistening with overnight rain.  The drizzle quickly cleared and the sun shone all day as visitors and exhibitors enjoyed the exhibitor tents, gardens, refreshments and a fabulous talk by Terry Walton and Lynne Allbutt.

Together with a very helpful Loops we ran the Bowlovers stand for Harriet Hunter Gatherer but I still had time to admire the stands and make some gift purchases, ok so I might have bought some things for me!  During the day Daniel Moncur-Sime took stunning photographs and we are delighted to be working together on a series of collaborative blogs featuring the Glanusk Estate which will be posted very soon.
